Blood Laws

"We are Bound by Blood.

We are Bound by Fate. We are Bound by Destiny. We are bound by many things, but most importantly; We are bound by Honor. To these standards, we will uphold. To these promises, we will keep. To each other, we will bind ourselves.

For each other, we bind our blood. Never shall we dishonor one another. Never shall we fail. We are Bound by Blood, and our honor remains untainted. For each other, we shall be there. Our words will be kind and honest, without scorn and hatred for one another. For above all else, we shall respect each other to a degree that even the Gods will find admirable.

To our Elders, to our Most Exhaulted, we swear fealty. Our Elders are our ears. Our Exhaulted our strength. For they have given us the power to speak out freely, to question their actions, to give them our own advice. Yet these are privileges, not rights. We will adhere to their words, praise their fairness in leadership, for without them, we would be nothing. Without them, we would fall.

United, we stand like a stone against the wind of Regulos's forces. Together, we are the welcoming light in the darkness of the Defiant. Our power is great, yet it is our hearts that are mighty. Our minds are keen, yet it is our kindness to others that will guide the hand of the Vigil and gain the praise of the Gods of Telara. Our will is strong, yet it is our unity that will gain notice from all of Telara.

Let it be known, our brothers, our sisters.....

We are Bound By Blood....

And we shall never faulter."

1. General Guild Rules & How to Apply

~*Respect your fellow guild members. This should go without saying. OOC drama will not be tolerated, even though it can and probably will happen. When an OOC issue arises between members, it should be brought to the guild leaders to be handled amicably. If it is not brought to the guild leaders and the issue becomes inflamed (and we hear about it) the matter must be dropped immediately on an "agree to disagree" basis or there will be repercussions, including but not limited to dismissal (depending on the severity).

~*The word of your Guild Leaders (aka The Exalted) and the second-in command officers (aka Elders) is to be heeded and respected. When an issue comes to the guild leaders for handling, whatever they say on the matter goes, in the end. Please respect that the guild leaders and officers have the best interest of BBB and YOU in mind, and will never target anyone or purposely make anyone unhappy.

~*Harassment both in and out of guild will not be tolerated. This is a pretty wide topic and covers a lot of things. It pretty much boils down to the golden rule. If you would be unhappy with someone doing a thing to you, DON'T do it to them. If the guild leadership hears that a member has been harassing someone, there will be repercussions for that behavior, including but not limited to dismissal (depending on the severity).

~*If you need something addressed, DON'T hesitate to bring it to the guild leaders. We are here to help!

~*Naming Policy: To be in Bound by Blood, you must have a somewhat roleplay-friendly name. This means that no names based on copyrighted characters, celebrities, or real-life concepts will be accepted. Also, we will not accept names such as "Theking" "Ipwnyou", or "Highelfgirl". If you have names such as the kinds described here, you may still apply, but you will not be accepted or invited into the guild with that specific character until the character's name is changed in-game.

~*Leaving for a while? TELL US! If you leave for a period of over 30 days without telling the guild leaders, you run the risk of being purged from the guild roster. While you will more than likely be let back in to the guild after you're back, it would be easier for everyone if you were to tell us before you left. That way, we would know not to expect you around for events, grouping, etc. It will also prevent us from removing you from the guild roster after the first 30 days of inactivity.

~*To apply, please visit the forums. We have a forum section specifically for applications, and there is a stickied thread that will tell you exactly what to do! Please note, you MUST apply to the site by clicking "Apply to Guild" in the left column, as well as submitting a forum application.

2. Forum Posting and Communication

~*Politics & Religion: These discussions are NOT allowed in guild chat or the forums.

~*Mature Content: Bound by Blood is a guild made up of adults. Mild sexual content, violence, alcohol and drug references, as well as other "unsavory" topics are allowed here, but mostly restricted to in-character. One thing must be made clear, however: There will be NO open-RP sexual stories (aka cybersex, hawt cyb0rz, etc.) allowed on the forums or in the guild channel. If a post or discussion is over the PG-13 rating, you MUST post [NSFW] or [Mature Content] in the title of the post. If you do not include that tag in the subject line of your post and there is mature content within, a forum moderator will do it for you. Please do your best to keep strong sexual content (think TV-MA or NC-17) out of your public posts, however. If it MUST be included, it MUST first be cleared by Alyvrae. If you do not clear it before posting it, it will be deleted.

~*Explicit Language: Explicit language is tolerated. But please do try not to overuse it. If every other word of your post is an expletive, your post will be moderated (in the sense that the offending words will be edited out of the post). You are NEVER ALLOWED to post racially-charged expletives such as "the N-word" or any other racial slurs. Ever.

3. Roleplay

~*RP in RP channels: Please try to stay in-character in any roleplay channels you join, such as IC tavern channels or our guild roleplay channel. We try to have an air of sensibility and responsibility about the guild, and as such, we will do our best not to break others' immersion when it comes to RP.

~*Inexperienced Roleplayers Welcome Here: You do not need to be teh awe$0m3 RPer to join us in Bound by Blood. If you are interested in bettering your roleplay, language skills, etc, please do not hesitate to ask ANY one of us for help. We'd be happy to assist, and in fact, we WANT to help you. But if you don't say anything, we can't help!

~*Conflict RP: Be sensible about conflict RP. It WILL happen, and more likely than not, it will happen often. If you think something your character is going to do will offend someone OOC, please send them a private message in-game and ASK them if it's all right for you to do it. The same courtesy will be extended to you. The general rule-of-thumb is: if you're not sure, ASK FIRST!!

~*Godmoding/Metagaming/etc: Godmoding and metagaming will not be tolerated. "God Modding" is in essence when someone’s character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. And example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RP-ers try. Metagaming is the act of using outside or previously gained knowledge within a gaming universe for personal gain or advantage.

Bad: Lily stretches her arm towards Gary, and cuts his throat with a single slice of her dagger, killing him instantly.

Good: Lily pulls out her dagger and jumps towards Gary, aiming for his throat.

Bad: OOC: (Jane)Hey Joe, just so you know, Jane's father was killed last year. That's why she's so depressed right now, don't take it personally. IC: (Joe) "Hey Jane, I know your father died last year, but you don't have to be such a bitch. OOC: (Jane) Hey, you weren't supposed to know that IC!! I told you OOC!

Good: OOC: (Jane)Hey Joe, just so you know, Jane's father was killed last year. That's why she's so depressed right now, don't take it personally. IC: (Joe) "Jane, why are you such a bitch?"

4. Grouping and Raiding

~Loot: Looting will always be done on a NEED-BEFORE-GREED basis in guild-run groups and raids. However, if you are in a non-guild-run group or raid, then it is up to that group's leader to determine who will get the loot.

~Loot Assignment in Raids: Raid looting works a bit differently, usually. There might be 4 healers who need X piece of gear, or 4 rogues who need Y piece of gear. In this case, a specific item will be looted to guild members on a round-robin basis, determined by a loot roll. If there is no "random rolling" option in RIFT (I'm not sure there is) then http://www.random.org/ will be used to do this. Whoever needs the loot will pick a number from 1-100, and whoever has the closest number to what comes out on that website will win the piece of loot. Only one piece of ultra-rare armor can be looted PER PERSON per raid. So if two rogue leather drops happen, two different people will be looting. This may be a little confusing, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
